Membership

Newcomers are most welcome and can join at one of our training sessions, preferably on Mondays or Wednesdays. Even if you have never run before, Itheko is the right club for you!

Zarina Meyer-Brewer manages the club’s membership and Western Province Athletics (WPA) registrations and can be contacted at 083 2485655.
You need a WPA license number to participate in road races and this is included in our very low annual membership fee. So get your license numbers and age-group tags, otherwise you’ll pay extra for a temporary license with every race you enter!

New members need to complete and submit both of the following forms upon joiningExisting members who are renewing their membership need to complete the WPA form only.

Please complete and return your signed forms along with your payment (or proof of payment if via EFT) and copy of ID (in the case of all juniors and all new members)  to Zarina at the clubhouse. Note that the annual fees listed below include an amount of R120 which we pay to WPA for your licence number.

Run with Itheko!

Our vision is transforming lives and improving the health of our communities through running –  it’s about inspiring and supporting each other and having fun, as well as competing in races and winning medals.

We cater for everyone, and especially those of you who have never run before. Many members started as reluctant beginners who did not believe that they could run, and have now transformed their physical and mental health.

How can I join Itheko?

Training is at 6pm on Monday & Wednesday evenings for beginners and on Tuesdays and Thursdays for everyone else. After a 4-8 week beginners’ program you’ll be celebrating finishing your first 10km race!
